Lifeguards Alice Henley and Michael Vasta competed in the 2016 USLA National Championships in Hermosa Beach CA from August 10-13th. With this 2 person team, Dania Beach Ocean Rescue finished 5h place in the “B” Division. The “B” division is composed of Agencies with less than 100 Lifeguards on their payroll. There were over 43 teams and 800 competitors from all over the United States. Michael Vasta finished 5th in Open American Ironman, 11th in Open Row, 1st Age Group American Ironman, 2nd Age Group Paddle, 4th Age Group Row, 4th Age Group surfski, and 5th Age Group International Ironman. Michael Vasta finished 45th in the Men’s ranking. Alice Henley finished 2nd in the Open 2k and 6th place in Open Row. This is only the 2nd year that Dania Beach Ocean rescue has competed in the USLA National Competition!
