Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics
Broward County residents are encouraged to recycle their used electronic equipment and dispose of household hazardous waste in an environmentally safe manner — and now that’s easier than ever. Thanks to a partnership between Broward County Waste and Recycling Services and Partner Cities.
Residents can dispose of household hazardous waste, including paint, solvents, motor oil, pesticides, household chemicals, lawn and pool chemicals, mercury thermometers, propane tanks and fire extinguishers, and used electronics including televisions, computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, fax machines, cell phones and rechargeable batteries, safely—and for free. Proof of Broward County residency is required. Items that cannot be accepted are stereos, microwaves, kitchen appliances, explosives, bio-hazardous waste and business-generated waste.
Broward County operates these permanent drop-off locations:
- 2780 N. Powerline Road, Pompano Beach (north of Copans Road): Open every Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Accepts household hazardous waste and used electronics.
- 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd., West Park (located between Miramar and Pembroke Park): Open every Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Accepts household hazardous waste and used electronics.
- 5490 Reese Road, Davie: Open Saturdays only, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Accepts household hazardous waste and used electronics.
