Who are the City's Elected Officials and how do I contact them?

Q.

When and where does the City Commission meet?

A.

The City Commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, 100 W Dania Beach Blvd, Dania Beach, FL 33004.  Changes to the schedule can be found on the web site’s calendar.

 

Q.

Where can I obtain an agenda for an upcoming Commission meeting?

A.

  • You can view the City Commission Agenda by (Clicking here)
  • You may also register to be notified by email when new City Commission Agendas are posted on our website by (Clicking here).
  • You can obtain copies of agendas at City Hall after 4:00 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the Commission meeting (it is recommended that you call the City Clerk’s Office at 954-924-6800 x3624 to confirm that the agenda has been completed).

 

Q.

How can I find out what an agenda item is about?

A.

Support documents for agenda items are included in the agenda, and are viewable on the City website. (Clicking here)

The City Clerk's Office can provide a copy of the agenda backup material for a charge of 15 cents per page, with the exception of large exhibits (site plans, etc.). Such exhibits would be available for viewing only.

 

Q.

How do I address the Commission regarding items on the agenda?

A.

Fill out a form for addressing the City Commission and give it to the City Clerk prior to the start of the meeting. The City Clerk will deliver the form to the Mayor and he/she will call you to the podium when the item is discussed.

 

Q.

How can I be appointed to an advisory board?

A.

How can I request copies of public records?

A.

  • Pick up a form at City Hall and submit it to the City Clerk's Office.
  • You may also fill out the form online by (Clicking here).
  • Call the City Clerk's Office at 954-924-6800 ext. 3622
  • Fax your request to 954-921-2604

When are general municipal elections held?

A.

General municipal elections are held in March of odd numbered years.

How/Where do I register to vote?

A.

Voter registration is handled through the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office, 115 South Andrews Avenue, Room 102, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33301, 954-357-7050.  Voter registration applications are available on the Supervisor of Elections website www.browardsoe.org, at City Hall, and at all County Libraries and Drivers License Bureaus.

Where do I go to vote?

Your voter registration card identifies your polling location.  If you have misplaced your voter registration card, please contact the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office at 954-357-7050, or www.browardsoe.org.
