Dania Beach is a Certified Better City for Pets!
The city is very proud of this accomplishment of being certified. We have been working very hard to make things better for our furry friends! We understand that pets make life happier and healthier, that’s why the City of Dania Beach is proud to be a destination for pets and pet owners. This certification celebrates cities that are pet-friendly and welcomes pets. Dania Beach is on the path to becoming even more welcoming to all 2 and 4-legged citizens. 

BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ certified cities have programs and policies that make it easier for pets and pet owners to live a happy, healthy life together.

Pet Friendly Parks: 

Many of our residents enjoy our parks and walk their dogs around the parks including the updated Linear Park on S.E. 5th Avenue from S.E. 10th Street to S.E. 14th Street.

  • The Precious Paws Dog Park at P.J. Meli Park is now completely free! Additionally, we are doing great improvements to the park to make it a great place to bring your dogs. More information coming soon!
  • The Tigertail Dog Lake is Broward County's cleanest freshwater dog lake! It's the perfect space to spend quality time with your dogs. For hours and fees, visit www.p-pups.com.

  • Dogs are NOT ALLOWED at the public beach.

Everything’s better with pets! Responsible pet owners make it a great experience for everyone.
  • Keep me leashed and under control to help protect me (and the people and things that are around me!).
  •  Gimme space! Make sure I hang out where I won’t be underfoot.
  •  Grrrr. If I get over-excited, aggressive or anxious, please take me outside so I can calm down.
  •  When I gotta go, I gotta go. Help me anticipate when I need to go out for a break. And if it happens....sorry, please clean it up.
  •  Don’t leave me! (Never leave pets unattended in a public space.)
  •  Keep in mind that you’re in charge. I try to be good...but you’re ultimately responsible for me and my actions.
