The Dania Beach Public Art Project NW 1st Street Bridge Painting by Marco Conde is completed. The concept of the project is to create a vibrant mural that celebrates the natural plants and animals that surround the bridge, using unique effects with characteristics and tropical colors that reflect the natural landscape of Dania Beach.
South Florida Visual Artist Marcos Conde has been selected to paint the NW 1st Street Bridge Public Art Project. The artist develops surreal, abstract and colorful bodies of work that portrays a sense of movement and has emanating energy through the use of color. He has done multiple public art installations.
The City of Dania Beach is experiencing unprecedented growth with the addition of commercial and residential developments in all sectors of the City. This rapid change to the built environment and influx of new residents has presented an opportunity to consider the appearance of the City of the future.
City leaders recognize the potential to transform Dania Beach for the benefit of citizens, while highlighting its charm, character, potential, and history through public art. Implementation of the Public Art Plan will result in the establishment of creative gathering spaces, enhanced City buildings that reflect the City’s people and cultures, and will provide access to the arts in all sectors of the City.
The development of an art collection ensures that community aesthetics are considered as new development transforms the built environment. The addition of public art to City locations will ensure that residents continue to be proud of not only the history and setting of Dania Beach, but also its aesthetics and creative vitality.
